Our children and staff have had an exciting spooky week for Halloween this year! Our nurseries have been carving pumpkins, decorating Halloween biscuits and getting messy with arts and crafts.
At our Dartmouth nursery, the children loved learning different marking techniques by creating pumpkin prints with apples. They also used their hands and feet to create spiders and ghosts, which was very messy! These were all put up around the nursery for decoration.
Our team at Dartington and Newton Abbot loved showing the children how to scoop seeds and slime out of pumpkins. The children loved exploring all the different textures and smells of the pumpkins which are important for the children’s sensory development. The children also used paint and bubble mixture to create lots of bubbles inside the pumpkins!
Our Play Club children couldn’t resist getting involved with all the Halloween fun! During half term they all enjoyed a week of fun activities that involved scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, cake baking, ghost hunting and apple bobbing! To finish off their fun packed week, the children enjoyed a Halloween mask competition and a party that involved doughnut hanging!
Our team at Humpty Dumpty Childcare loved getting involved with all the Halloween activities although, their favourite part was seeing all the children in their Halloween costumes. We had a few vampires, pirates and skeletons this year! Very scary!
