Human Resources Manager - Fixed Term

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified & experienced HR Manager join the HDC family to develop and deliver our People Strategy and HR function, in support of a growing and ambitious group of nurseries.

You are an experienced HR professional, who thrives working in a dynamic environment. You will be comfortable and capable of operating at all levels within the business, be that ensuring the quality and accuracy of data; producing management reports from large complex data sets with actionable insights; engaging with potential candidates and external recruitment agencies; to advising the Senior Leadership Team on strategic people related priorities.  You will be joining a well-established business, where you will work closely with the leadership team, this is a high-profile position where you can make your mark and help realise our ambition of becoming the early years provider of choice across the South West.

  • People Strategy Development
  • Staff forecasting and labour planning
  • Recruitment
  • Talent review and performance management
  • Employee engagement and retention
  • Monitoring and reporting
  • Data management

This role will support the successful delivery of the objectives of HDC within the expected timeframes. This will be achieved through the implementation of robust and scalable processes, the embedding of these processes into daily BAU, providing evidence and assurance of their effectiveness to the Senior Leadership Team, and coaching nursery managers to effectively manage their teams. This role will require you to be continually up to date with any changes in legislation and ensure these changes are implemented across the business.

Qualifications and Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
  • 5+ years' experience in Human Resources
  • Track record of delivering strategic business outcomes through an effective people strategy
  • Exceptional track record of delivering improvement in key metrics such as absence, attrition, payroll defects and staff engagement
  • Experience of working in a multi-site environment
  • Proven manager and strong leader, capable of driving and influencing change in matrix organisations
  • Confident decision-maker and ability to support and challenge current thinking and drive and implement effective change where required
