At Humpty Dumpty Childcare we believe in our team. We understand that to offer the best possible childcare and nursery education we need to continually upskill and develop our staff. To this end, we are pleased to be working with GHQ Ltd. Based in Plymouth, GHQ Ltd are a long-established company with a reputation for delivering training and developing for a wide variety of businesses.
Over the last few months, four of the team at Humpty Dumpty Childcare went on a training course that introduced them to the role and responsibilities of a Team Leader and First-Line Manager. This training was delivered by Clive from GHQ Ltd, and for three days saw Humpty Dumpty Childcare team explore the key skills and knowledge required to become an effective leader. This started with self-awareness and then moved on to how to be an effective communicator, which involved team dynamics and team building. Many tools were used in this training course, such as personal SWOT analysis, personal development plans, reflective journals and self-management; specifically, time management and organisation.
Finally, they looked at the practical aspects of managing day-to-day operations and how to solve problems and make effective decisions. The key attribute required of any manager is building and maintaining good working relationships both within and outside the business.
