Now offering Enchanced Settle Sessions*
Are you thinking about your return to work?
Or are wanting your baby to socialise with others?
Worried your baby will not settle into nursery?
At hdc we understand that 2020 was not a normal year for families with new babies, there was very limited opportunity for new parents to join groups, meet up with family and friends and as a result some babies are, understandably, cautious around new people.
To support families who are now needing to consider returning to work or simply wanting to introduce their baby to other children, hdc Dartmouth is offering Enhanced Settle Sessions* for babies and toddlers under 3.
Enhanced Settle Sessions are a two-month period where you can leave your little one for two or three half days a week whilst you build up to full days.
Your nursery manager and baby's key person will work with you and your baby throughout these enhanced settle sessions to ease your baby into nursery life.
Our Enhanced Settle Sessions will be offered to families with children under three who feel their child would benefit from an extended settling period, giving both you and your baby that valuable, additional time to build relationships with both the nursery and your child’s key worker. Our aim is to give you the confidence to return to work, study, etc. and give your baby the best possible start to nursery life.

'I'm so pleased with how well my daughter has settled at Humpty Dumpty. She seems excited on her nursery days to go and see her friends and see her keyworker. The hours work really well for my husband and me around our work and we know she has a great time there.'
|'I don't think there are words to convey how it feels to be leaving your baby in the care of someone else. Someone who isn't a close friend or family member. But these are the words I feel I can use since having left my child in the care of HDC Dartmouth: Informed, Reassured, Contented and Calm.'|
'HDC made the process of my child starting nursery much easier and I'm really pleased I chose to go with them. The menu, play offered and staff are brilliant.'
|'My son attends the Dartmouth nursery and absolutely loves it! He runs in wanting to see his friends and his room staff. He always comes home happy and this is down to the lovely, professional, caring staff who provide excellent education and care! Best nursery around!'|
Our baby room has a large space with plenty of windows and light. The room has a private deck that allows for plenty of fresh air. Our professional approach is based on the personal needs and interests of each child. Your babies key person is a friendly and knowledgeable early years educator who nurture holistic development.
As your child becomes more independent, emphasis on child-centred practice and growth will give them the self-reliance and confidence to thrive. Our nursery educators enable active learning based on play and exploration. Our Toddler Room has key areas and activities to capture the essential "learning in the moment". The room has plenty of natural light and the Toddler Room has its own deck area to allow for fresh air and sunshine.
As children approach their third birthday, after a discussion with parents/carers, children will start a transition period from the toddler room into our Preschool Room. Each nursery has its own dedicated Preschool Room Leader, they are qualified and experienced educators who delight in meeting the needs of this age range. They focus on the individual child and ensure that learning experiences have the right element of challenge to focus the child’s learning. Our priority is to ensure that every child makes progress and that no child gets left behind.
